Early Tuesday Morning, A car slammed into Homewood Dairy Queen and Ridge Road from Highland Avenue to Ashland Avenue are closed while police investigate.
Police have not yet provided details related to the crash, but some of the neighbors said they saw two people extricated from the vehicle, which apparently was traveling westbound when it crashed into the east side of the building.
Anne Sutkus, who lives across the street in the 1600 block of Ridge, said “she heard the impact sometime after 3 a.m. and her husband called 911.”
Another neighbor, Nick Mandich, said he heard a long screech and the sound of the impact at about 3:30 a.m.
“I figured somebody hit a pole,” he said. “I’m glad nobody was in the building.”
A message was posted on the Dairy Queen Facebook page: “Due to damage caused in the overnight accident, the Dairy Queen will be closed until further notice. We will update all of our loyal customers as we have more information.”
